Question: Buying pool table over the internet? (Posted by: Shawn M on 2010-06-20 08:38:56) Hesitant about buying a pool table over the Internet. Found a 7 ft coin operated table that they said was solid, I just didn't know if slate worped or got sags in it, low spots, you get the idea? They say it has new rails and felt so again just concerned about slate. Thanks in advance. Shawn |

Posted by: Brew City on 2010-06-20, 23:17:01 I've never heard of anyone having slate warp on their table. Slate as in stone, not the crappy plywood or slaytron cheepie garbage they sell. I would be more concerned about the wood of the table than the slate. Especially if it is a 7' table. I think a 9' or bigger that was placed on a bad supported area might possibly develop some kind of warp... maybe, but generally slate will last a long long time. So be sure an ask them if it is indeed real slate. |

One thing comes to mind right off, the cost of shipping, secondary the condition of the table is very important as this is a investment and when it shows up you could either be excited to play or very disappointed. This table I take it is not a bar table and if so your chances are better that it has been taken care of. One thing to think about is there a way to work with the seller to have a money back clause? the only other thought I have is to have a third party from the sellers location that is familiar with pool tables look it over and send you a detailed report about it. good luck and 9 on the brake. |

I'm a sports lover, I often order my stuff through one of the sports site and they have been able to meet the expectations. You may go through and if satisfied you may give a try... |
